For those of you following my blog, I mentioned the other day that I have only recently become smoke free. Well the last 4 days were UNBELIEVABLY hard.....made all the worse by my confusion as to why! I figured the first few days or week would be the hardest but this hasn't been the case for me at all...I have nearly given in NUMEROUS times over these past 4 days, but I am happy to report so far I have remained committed to my decision, even over these most trying of days!!!
Ok, so while I have been OBSESSING over the thought of nicotine and smoking I decided to write down the pros and cons of a life 'without' as opposed to 'with', just to help me thru...and here is what I have found in just 18 short days.
PROS
- My nails look healthier and stronger.
- My nails aren't yellow!
- My hair and clothing no longer smell like an ashtray!
- My teeth are cleaner.
- I am now more 'socially acceptable'
- I have more time to be productive - hence all the blog posts. hahahaha
- I am leading by example for my children.
- I am healthier.
- I have more money back in my pocket.
- My 'HUBBA BUBBA' bubbles are AWESOME, and provide great entertainment for my kids! hehehehehe
CONS
- Withdrawals are TOUGH
- It's hard to NOT replace nicotine with food
- Staying focussed and committed to being completely free of this addiction SUX! (that's my anger and frustration talking) hahaha
So when I sat down to make this list, I was surprised at how easy I came up with the PROS, even though I was 'bang in the middle' of a MASSIVE PITY PARTY for myself and so close to jumping in the car to go and buy a packet....So for yet another day, I struggle on and to date...keep WINNING this fight - JUST.
I thought I would finish this post with a reminder of why I am doing this, and because I wanted to show you my little man graduating from Daycare. 8 sleeps till Big School Haydee! xoxoxox
As, always, thanks for visiting and please (especially at the moment)..feel free to leave me your words of wisdom, or a bit of your experience...
Till next time - Jodie :-)

Jodie, you are doing extremely well, hang in there. Most people start the new year with resolutions that last a day. One step at a time.
